It’s almost been four whole weeks since Dynoro and Ina Wroldsen dropped their awesome and addicting track, titled “Obsessed“. The track has gained over 6.5 million Spotify streams and even managed to chart on Norway’s VG-lista at number 13.
Dynoro, real name Edvinas Pechovskis, is a Lithuanian music producer. He launched on the music scene with the track “In My Mind” which became an international sensation charting globally. The song interpolates Gigi D’Agostino’s song “L’amour toujours”. His follow-up single was “Obsessed” with Ina Wroldsen which is gaining in popularity.
We were lucky enough to interview Dynoro about the release of this track, working with Ina Wroldsen, his thoughts on the music video, and his future plans. He also has an inspiring message for his fans, so we urge you to keep reading.
Hi Dynoro, how are you today? What have you been up to recently?
Hey. I’m pretty good. Just came back home from the studio sessions with my good friend from my hometown.
First things first, your real name is Edvinas Pechovskis, so where did your name Dynoro come from?
A lot of people asked me about that, but no one got an exact answer. It was about 6 years ago, it just came in my head with no explanation.
Your brand new single is “Obsessed”, can you tell us more about it? And what is the meaning behind the song?
It’s a bit of an experimental track for me actually, from the melodic perspective, its quite dark and melancholic and the idea was to match the meaning of the lyrics which was made by Ina [Wroldsen]; from her perspective, the song is about hopeless love.
How did working with Ina Wroldsen come about and what was she like to work with?
The idea to work together came from my label, they did a lot of work on this release. Ina Wroldsen created the idea of the song, then they sent me a demo version of ”Obsessed” and now we have that what you can listen on every popular music platform around the world.
A music video for the song was released, how did the animation visual come about?
The idea for the video was from Ina Wroldsen, which I think perfectly fits the music and lyrics.
Can you tell us about the story of the music video and how it relates to the song?
At first, it looks kinda ”funny”, but when you listen to the whole song at the same time as watching the music video, you can feel some melancholic, new vibes from what you see and hear.
Now let’s talk about your previous single “In My Mind”, did you expect it to become such a hit around the world?
No, it was such a big surprise to me that ”In My Mind” started growing in all popular platforms after strong help of my label.
How would you describe Lithuanian music? We only really know Lithuanian artists through Eurovision.
Lithuanian music has changed a lot in the past years, now we have a lot of new growing young artists and everyone tries to find his own sound. Lithuania HQ music channel on YouTube is the most popular music channel in Lithuania, it’s really different from what you hear in Eurovision but there can see some upcoming Lithuanian talents.
Back to your music, what else can we expect from you, this year?
This year we will try to get new sounding and we are planning a lot of collaborations with big names of the music industry.
And, finally, is there anything you would like to say to your fans?
Never stop working on the track that you feel, don’t listen to other people’s opinion, it’s your life and if you will keep believing, you’ll get it.
Thank you, Dynoro, for your inspiring answer to the last question, as well as taking time out for this interview. We adore “Obsessed” and we look forward to watching your future endeavours.
“Obsessed” is available to download and stream right now, through B1 Recordings. Look out for more new music from Dynoro later on in the year.
